## Before you start Confirm that the cabinet power is isolated, the DIN rail is grounded and the project network plan is available. Use only the rated power input and keep field wiring separated from high-voltage conductors. ## Wiring overview 1. Mount the MB-213 on the DIN rail with airflow around the enclosure. 2. Connect protective earth according to the cabinet grounding plan. 3. Wire the 24 V DC supply to the power input and verify polarity before energizing. 4. Connect Ethernet to the service or automation network. 5. Connect RS-485 devices only after checking A/B polarity and termination requirements. ## First power-up After power is applied, wait for the status LED to complete its boot sequence. A steady system state indicates that the gateway is ready for discovery and configuration. ## First login Connect a service laptop to the same network segment, open the configured device address in a browser and sign in with the project credentials. Change default credentials before the device is connected to a production network. ## Commissioning checklist - Set the device hostname and site identifier. - Confirm IP addressing, gateway and DNS settings. - Configure serial port mode, baud rate and parity for connected devices. - Enable only required services. - Export a backup after configuration is complete. ## Need help? Use the Downloads page for product documents and contact Modibus support if the device does not appear on the network after power-up.
